Empire Records | Miasto Movie
About
Empire Records is an independent record store managed by the one and only Joe (Anthony LaPaglia). A music enthusiast and drummer at heart, Joe is, above all, a great boss who hires local kids to man the shop. Each of these young people carries their own burdens and dilemmas, but Empire Records is their home away from home—and the crew is their second family.
However, dark clouds are gathering over the store. There is a real threat that this fan-favorite alternative hub, pulsing with music, will be swallowed up and turned into a corporate chain. Joe and his young team will do whatever it takes to stop that from happening.
Empire Records brilliantly captures the essence of the 1990s, highlighting the musical and social fascinations of the era. The cast is led by rising young stars, including Liv Tyler and Renée Zellweger, while the stellar soundtrack features tracks by the likes of The Cranberries, AC/DC, Gwar, and Suicidal Tendencies.
