Smoke | Miasto Movie
About
Auggie Wren (a sensational Harvey Keitel) is the owner of a small tobacco shop somewhere in the heart of Brooklyn. His life is defined by daily rituals, small joys, moments of contemplation, and conversations with regular customers. Watching Smoke, one gets the impression that in Auggie’s shop, time has momentarily slowed its murderous pace. No one is in a hurry; everything flows at its own natural rhythm. In a city as gargantuan as New York, this seems entirely impossible—and yet, the film’s characters manage to achieve it.
The strength of this extraordinary film lies in its brilliantly written dialogue and a gallery of colourful characters, each with their own story to tell. Alongside Keitel, Smoke features stellar performances from William Hurt, Forest Whitaker, Ashley Judd, and Giancarlo Esposito.
