About
Needful Things is a successful adaptation of Stephen King’s prose, set in his favorite town of Castle Rock, Maine—a recurring backdrop for the author’s dark tales. Max von Sydow stars as the mysterious Leland Gaunt, a man who has just arrived in town to open a small antique shop. The shop quickly gains customers among the local community, especially since it turns out that everyone can find the item of their dreams within its walls.
However, alongside the opening of the shop, disturbing and sinister events begin to unfold in the town. The residents will soon learn that at Gaunt’s, nothing is given for free, and every dream comes with a terrifying price. Standing against the evil slowly consuming Castle Rock is the local sheriff, played by Ed Harris.
