You’ve got mail | Miasto Movie
About
You’ve Got Mail is a romantic comedy classic directed by a specialist in the genre, writer-director Nora Ephron. The film stars the iconic “rom-com” duo of the ’90s: Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. New York City also serves as a character in its own right—specifically the beautifully filmed neighborhood of Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
The story is set in a tiny bookstore owned by Kathleen (played by Ryan), who inherited the shop from her mother. Business is steady until competition moves into the neighborhood in the form of a massive bookstore belonging to a national corporate chain. At its helm is Joe (Hanks). As is typical in romantic comedies, these two seemingly mismatched individuals eventually find themselves connected by a surprising romance.
