About the event

How can we talk about traditional crafts without relying solely on sight? During the walk, we will visit selected stalls at the Jagiellonian Fair, and we will get to know the products presented there through audio description, conversation and touch.

We will explore the shapes, textures, materials and details of handmade objects. We will find out how the smooth surface of ceramics differs from the weave of a wicker basket, how traditional toys and decorations are made, and what touch alone can tell us about how they were created. We will also listen to stories about the work of the craftspeople, the techniques they use and the traditions from which the objects on display have grown.

We invite blind and visually impaired people with their accompanying persons.
