“Komedia Judyty” and other dramatic works by Siergiej Kowalow | meeting with the author

About

Writer Siergiej Kowalow, author of, among others, the book “Komedia Judyty”, published by Workshops of Culture, will be Irina Lappo’s guest on September 25 during the Lublin Book Fair.

“Komedia Judyty” is a collection of plays by Belarusian playwright and Polish professor Siergiej Kowalow. The book contains eight texts for the stage and for reading, intended for both adults and children. According to one of the book’s translators, Beata Siwek, Kowalow’s work has enormous stage potential, revealing the most pressing problems, fears and longings of contemporary people, national and individual traumas, and universal desires, needs and hopes. It is a body of work in which a hermeneutic interplay with the texts of European culture takes the reader on a fascinating journey into unknown worlds – from which one returns as someone else.

The meeting will be hosted by Dr. hab. Irina Lappo.

The meeting is organized jointly with the Belarusian publishing house Kamunikat.

The book “Komedia Judyty” was published by Wydawnictwo Warsztaty Kultury. It can be purchased for 50 zł on the publisher’s website.
