Starting tomorrow, Lublin will once again become a stage for contemporary circus performances. This year’s edition of the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów (July 23-26) will feature numerous stage productions, busking performances and unforgettable circus acts. But that’s not all – the festival also has a musical side. The festival club, located in the green area of the Perła Brewery at Bernardyńska 15, will become the heart of the evening programme, where, after days filled with artistic experiences, audiences can enjoy concerts and energetic DJ sets.
Concerts
The festival concert series will open on Thursday, July 23 with a performance by Chair. The band blends post-punk energy with absurdist humour. Their songs move seamlessly from dance rhythms through melancholic reflection to explosive catharsis. The performance will feature a distinctive visual setting that blurs the line between a concert and an artistic performance.
On Friday, July 24, festival audiences will hear La Bande à Tyrex. The French group combines music, stage energy and a distinctive visual identity. They will present a lively concert based on well-known soul and pop hits, giving them their own original arrangements. Their performance will stand out for its spontaneous atmosphere, generous dose of humour and close interaction with the audience.
Saturday evening, July 25, will belong to Turfu, a joint project by Raphaël Decoster and Matthieu Suchet. Raphaël is a respected musician associated with the traditional and folk music scene, while also exploring electronic music. Matthieu, meanwhile, comes from the electronic music world (as well as jazz). The artists describe passion, ecstasy and exhilaration as the central themes of their music, which they happily call “cosmic.” Everything, however, serves one purpose: getting people to dance.
DJ sets
Each concert will be followed by a party featuring music selected by DJs. On Thursday, sto koni zwierząt – a member of the gnojki collective, responsible for the micro-nano-mega Gnojki Samba festival – will keep the crowd moving. The DJ promises an unrestrained musical ride.

– as they describe their set.
On Friday, Maître Mim’s will take over. This is the new DJ project of Matthieu Souchet, known for his energetic drumming in Turfu. As a DJ, he effortlessly combines rhythms from Africa, Latin America, traditional French music and electronic sounds, creating an energetic musical journey full of surprises. His sets bring together Brazilian baile funk, Jamaican dancehall, Martinican shatta, balfolk, techno and bass music.
Saturday will feature a selection of cumbia, tropical bass and rhythms balancing tradition with contemporary electronic music. The soundtrack will be provided by ALV, cabrón, inviting everyone – especially those who enjoy losing track of time and following the rhythm – to the dance floor.
The festival club programme will conclude on Sunday, July 26 with a set by the duo Ecléctico Nomádico. Their event description reads:
A transcontinental journey through styles, traditions and grooves! From Eastern bazaars to club dance floors steaming with cachaça! Mind-bending modal disco, euphoric cumbia, electro-Sufism, Persian synthesizers, retro-futuristic electronics and Afro-spiritual melodies.

Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is the largest festival in Poland showcasing contemporary circus arts. For years the event has attracted crowds of residents and tourists to the city. They are drawn not only by world-class circus performances, but also by the magical atmosphere of the festival. The program includes clowning, acrobatics, juggling, and illusion shows presented as engaging circus performances, as well as attractions for children and concerts. It is the most performatively diverse festival in the country. In addition, the Carnaval is accompanied by the Urban Highline Festival—the oldest and largest highline festival in the world held in an urban space.
