A concert within Different Sounds

In autumn, Different Sounds Zone will return to Workshops of Culture with a series of concerts. Those of us attending Malediwy’s gig on 16 October will have the opportunity to meet Jakub Janicki and Marek Pospieszalski, the excellent duo forming the project. On 23 October we will  have the pleasure of presenting a brand new project – you.Guru, composed of Artur Maćkowiak, Michał Lutrzykowski, and Piotr Waliszewski. Both concerts will be held at Próba Café. Admission is free.

The dust is slowly settling  after the unique September edition of East of Culture – Different Sounds festival. We managed to meet and enjoy live music even in this strange, unpredictable time.  We are continuing our explorations of music in October with two concerts within the Different Sounds Zone.

Marek Pospieszalski and Qba Janicki who form the duo Maledwiy have recently returned with a new album, “Dolce Tsunami”, released for the Tricity label Coastline Northern Cuts. In contrast to their first album recorded during the concert in “Mózg” in Bydgoszcz, Dolce Tsunami features recorded material whose sound departs strongly from associations with free jazz or freely interpreted African music, drawing inspiration from techniques and structural thinking characteristic for the sound-art scent.

you.Guru has been set up to answer the shared need for experimenting with music. Their music balances on unpredictable grounds, to the rhythm of trance loops and psychedelic tunes. The many musical experiences of individual members significantly contribute to the band’s rich sound, and those include such projects as Innercity Ensemble, B.O.K, Something Like Elvis, Tissura Ani, Potty Umbrella, Upside Down. The fusion of various styles and inspiration is the key to you.Guru’s music. In 2020 Antena Krzyku released the band’s debut album “Young Adult Fiction”
