In June, Lublin Workshops of Culture invite art enthusiasts to two extraordinary exhibitions. The first, “The beast and its angel” is an exhibition featuring the works of Yulia Dunayeva, who will transport viewers into the extraordinary world of her creations. The programme also includes an open-air exhibition Lublin through Witold Marczewski’s lens. | However, that’s not all, as both exhibitions are part of Night of Culture, which offers a rich programme of captivating events in the field of visual arts. Whether you have a passion for photography or a keen interest in contemporary art, there’s surely something that will captivate you!
Programme
The exhibition presents Marczewski’s photographs of Lublin, where he lived from 1922 to 1929. The collection includes images of Lublin’s architecture, including the former Jewish quarter, and snapshots of everyday life during the interwar period.

Outdiir exhibition. Admission free.
until 7 June | The Beast and its Angel – exhibition of Yulia Dunayeva’s art
The artist is inspired by folk traditions, nature, animals, and fairy tales. Yulia’s creatures are armed with wings and claws, representing the predatory nature of the world, yet at the same time their ornamentation and colour attract and mesmerize; they are delicate, harmonious, and rhythmical. She creates a fascinating blend of traditional and contemporary elements, with references to abstract art, pop art, trash art, and environmental issues. She sculpts, paints watercolors, creates collages, and processes textiles, constantly experimenting with materials and forms of expression. By using folk art, traditional designs, and nature as starting points, she explores themes such as humanity’s deep relationship with nature, the current ecological crisis, and the unity and interdependence of all of life.
