The Beast and its Angel – exhibition of Yulia Dunayeva’s art
Nature is at the center of Yulia’s work. The artist is inspired by folk traditions, nature, animals, and fairy tales. Yulia’s creatures are armed with wings and claws, representing the predatory nature of the world, yet at the same time their ornamentation and colour attract and mesmerize; they are delicate, harmonious, and rhythmical. She creates a fascinating blend of traditional and contemporary elements, with references to abstract art, pop art, trash art, and environmental issues.
