Patterns of Europe is a series of unique film screenings, lectures, exhibitions, and most of all workshops connected with broadly understood design and illustration.

The wide range of events organised within the project discloses various areas hiding in the broad term “design”. We examine the history of design and icons of industrial design, sneak a peek into designer studios, and discuss the specific character of creation and the features of specific creative industries. We encourage young people to take an interest in professional design, but we also train current and future creative entrepreneurs in various fields related to the professionalisation of their businesses. Furthermore, we are interested in graphic design and book illustrations and new crafts, traditional designs from the Lublin region, and a long-term dialogue between traditional culture and contemporary design.

We work towards protecting design traditions and the development of the creative sector in our region. We offer industry-level knowledge and inspire those who want to transform their passions and artistic talents into their jobs, for instance, by presenting the experience of people or companies that have already been through this.
