>18 September 2024: Literary Salon: Excerpts from “The Brass Age” by Slobodan Šnajder – A Pre-publication Reading
“The Brass Age,” a masterpiece by Slobodan Šnajder, is a forthcoming novel from Workshops of Culture. It is both a family saga and a powerful historical novel about the fate of those who are shackled by history, about generations destined to inherit the conflicting fates of their ancestors. Šnajder draws on his own biography to capture two hundred years of conflicts and divisive ideologies. In the process, he reconstructs a world that has fallen apart.

The Riverview Arts Festival aims to present new art trends in city environments, fostering a sense of cultural community, and prompting questions about our role in a rapidly changing world. It aims to combine high artistic quality with experimental art, prioritise environmental awareness, and promote a direct connection with nature.
>until the end of September: Growroom | art installation
Growroom is an urban farming concept developed by architects Sine Lindholm and Mads-Ulrik Husum, among others. This concept explores food-producing architecture that enables people to grow food at home, in the office, or in shared public spaces. It was first presented at the CHART Art Fair in Copenhagen in 2016. A special production of Workshops of Culture in Lublin in collaboration with Herbapol – Lublin S.A., which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
>until the end of September: Frank and Frances Carpenter: Capturing the World | Exhibition of Photography
The Carpenter collection is a rich photographic archive consisting of approximately 5400 prints arranged in 29 albums, 10,400 loose photographs, and 7,000 glass and film negatives. These extraordinary images were created between 1880 and 1934, with the bulk dating from 1910 to 1925. Frank and Frances Carpenter took many of the photographs themselves, but they also collected images from commercial sources. As a result, the collection is an invaluable record of their worldwide travels. Their travels spanned Europe, with a particular emphasis on the Basque Country, and extended to the Middle East, Far East, Africa, and the Americas.

Step into a fantastical realm where imagination takes flight. Join us for an enchanting exhibition featuring the world-renowned works of Swedish artist Sven Nordqvist. His captivating illustrations transport you to a magical land filled with humour, warmth, and endless possibilities. Visit Workshops of Culture in Lublin (Grodzka 7) starting Monday and experience the magic of Sven Nordqvist’s art.
