The Art of Sensitivity
The Art of Sensitivity is a series of integrative and educational events, workshops, and webinars addressed to children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
The project offers educational activities for those unfamiliar with the neuroatypical community. They aim to change ways of thinking about autism by presenting autistic individuals as a group of people with sensory sensitivities who are an integral part of our society. We want to give their neurodiversity a space in our world.
As part of the project, we will meet self-advocates. We want people with autism to form their communities aware of the rights and needs of those with self-determination abilities. We will also present the artistic work of people on the autism spectrum, integrating them into an active creative community.
The project includes sensory-friendly artistic events aimed at integrating neuroatypical and neurodiverse communities.
The series also incorporates workshops for autistic children and teens meant to help them unleash their creative potential while considering their special stimulation needs and sensory sensitivity.
Another vital element of the project are educational activities for the caretakers of autistic individuals, meant to teach them how to create a sensory-friendly environment for their families and thus foster the integral development of their children.
