It is a poignant account of the humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border, written from the perspective of someone providing aid. The author raises questions about responsibility, solidarity, and the price one pays for choosing humanity. Excerpts from the publication will be read by actress Maja Ostaszewska.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting with Anna D\u0105browska will be hosted by Grzegorz Rzepecki, director of the Workshops of Culture in Lublin. Editor El\u017cbieta Soko\u0142owska will give the opening remarks.<\/p>\n<p>The book \u201cNASZ NASZEGO NASZEMU NASZYM\u201d was published by the Workshops of Culture Publishing House. <a href=\"https:\/\/warsztatykultury.pl\/en\/book-launch-of-nasz-naszego-naszemu-naszym-workshops-of-culture-publishing-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>It can be purchased for 35 z\u0142 on the publishing house\u2019s website.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>About the book<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p><em>Winter 2021. (\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This book is about the price of that rescue work.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>At peace are those who do not help, for they are not haunted at night by the thought that they could have done more. At peace are those who have never experienced that helping others can become a source of contempt and shame. At peace because they have never come to know themselves, nor the price of their own peace.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Anna D\u0105browska\u2019s book can be read as an indictment and as an examination of conscience, as a cold analysis of the politics of fear and as a poetic confession of a wounded soul. She is the President of the Lublin-based Homo Faber Association and co-manages the \u201cBaobab\u201d community centre, an integration space for both new and long-time residents of Lublin. She is the recipient of the Janina Paradowska and Jerzy Zimowski Foundation Award (2018), the Andrzej Wajda Award (2022), and the European Solidarity Centre\u2019s Solidarity and Human Rights Badge of Honour (2025). She is also the author of the blog \u201cCircles of strangeness\u2009\/\u2009kr\u0119gi obco\u015bci\u201d. Its publishing programme centres primarily on the \u201cEastern Express\u201d series, which features prose, essays and poetry across a variety of genres. The series showcases the work of some of the most distinguished writers from Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania. The publishing house also takes pride in its collaboration with Bohdan Zadura, one of Poland\u2019s foremost translators of Ukrainian prose and poetry.
