A classic of the genre, widely regarded as one of the most important horror films in history. Director Richard Donner (‘Goonies’, ‘Lethal Weapon’ series) masterfully builds tension, revealing the next chapters of this dark story. The cast is led by Gregory Peck, David Warner, Lee Remick and Harvey Stephens, making his screen debut.

The starting point is the adoption made by the American diplomat Robert Thorn. He and his wife are mourning the loss of their own child. After being persuaded by a priest, they take in a young orphan boy. At first, everything goes well, but over time it becomes apparent that Damien is not a typical, normal child. A series of increasingly terrifying events will force the protagonist to fight for himself and his loved ones.

The success of the first film kick-started an entire series that remains highly popular to this day. The whole is rounded off by the phenomenal, Oscar-winning soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith, featuring the memorable piece ‘Ave Satani’.
