A walk among the mosaics of Lublin with Paulina Garbiec | Mosaic City
About the event
We invite you to take a walk around the Juliusz Słowacki housing estate in Lublin, designed by Zofia and Oskar Hansen – one of the most interesting examples of modernist residential architecture in Poland.
Together, we will discover mosaics from the communist era and contemporary works that give this part of the city its unique character. We will look at their history, their creators and their connections with the architecture of the estate. We will also discuss how the role of art in public spaces has changed and why it is worth protecting its heritage.
This will be an opportunity to look at well-known places from a completely different perspective and to discover artistic details that are easy to overlook on a daily basis.
