Hits from courtyards, salons and cabarets in an ‘alegant’ version. Each of the pieces is a separate story – dramatic, passionate, usually with a good dose of humour. You will hear stylish arrangements of old tangos, waltzes and polkas, known from the performances of the legendary bard of the capital – Stanisław Grzesiuk, but also contemporary ones, created by Justyna Jary and Alegancka Kapela, including ‘Bal na Gnojnej’, ‘Miecio Trąbka’, ‘Apaszem Stasiek był’.

About the artists
Alegancka Kapela continues urban musical traditions – from courtyard ballads to revue and cabaret songs. The band plays at city dances and retro recitals. If necessary, it will also play at weddings or divorce parties. Like Stanisław Grzesiuk once did, in their original works they portray the capital through stories from the past and present of its various districts. The musicians are particularly fond of stories from Praga Północ, where the band’s leader – Justyna Jary – lives and works. They released the album ‘Praskie Ballady’ (‘Prague Ballads’), which features ten original songs drawing on the poetic everyday life of Praga Północ and its surroundings. The acoustic sound carries local musical stories. The album was recognised as one of the top 10 albums in Poland in 2023, according to the ranking of the weekly magazine ‘Polityka’.
In 2025, Warsaw urban folk was recognised for the first time in the Folk Music Competition at the Polskie Radio Dwójka festival ‘New Tradition’ (it won third place, a special award from Program Pierwszy Polskiego Radia and the Audience Award Storm of Applause). The band, together with Justyna, won the International Song Festival ‘Szlakiem Bardów’ 2024. Kapela Alegancko also won the grand prix of the ‘New Sound of Warsaw Streets’ 2021 competition.
