Detroit | Miasto Movie
Today, Kathryn Bigelow is unquestionably one of the most important and respected women in the film industry. She has two Oscars – for the best film and directing for Hurt Locker”. She has been consistently building her position in Hollywood for years. She is famous for choosing difficult projects, challenging herself. She is not afraid of film genres stereotypically considered male cinema, such as action films, war films or thrillers. Her latest work is the monumental “Detroit”, which shows in a poignant but also absolutely fascinating and hypnotic way the loud racial riots that shook America in 1967. Today, with the entire United States burning once more in the fire of racism, police brutality and Donald Trump’s fascist power, Bigelow’s film is more relevant than ever and represents a grim, self-fulfilling prophecy.
