East of Culture – Different Sounds

At East of Culture – Different Sounds, international stars of alternative music share the stage with talents from Eastern Europe. The masters and pioneers of genres vital to the development of music meet with pioneers of new niches and seekers of original sounds. So far, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming such household names as Einstürzende Neubauten, Ministry, UK Subs, Tortoise, The Herbaliser, Tuxedomoon, Juno Reactor, Nouvelle Vague, Goldfrapp, Tony Allen, Mulatu Astatke, Lee “Scratch” Perry, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Asian Dub Foundation, Yat-Kha, The Tiger Lillies, Barbara Morgenstern. “East of Culture” is a part of the festival’s name for a good reason, as it brings to Lublin fascinating artists from such countries as Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia or Armenia, thus facilitating listeners from all over the world access to fantastic music which is otherwise difficult to find.
