Exhibition: Meetings with Nature | The Art of Sensitivity
About the Event
We warmly invite you to the exhibition “Meetings with Nature”. It is the work of Igor Bryzek, an 18-year-old autistic artist whose paintings are full of unusual forms and colours. The large-format pastels he creates are filled with emotion and creative expression, demonstrating the breadth and depth of his imagination.
Igor is a person on the autism spectrum with intellectual disabilities who enjoys listening to music, hiking, climbing, swimming, cycling, and, most of all, drawing, which has been his greatest passion since childhood.
For the past three years, he has been working under the supervision of Katarzyna Żaczek at the Wiktoria Kubisz House of Culture in Bielsko-Biała. His works have been exhibited at the Bielsko-Biała BWA Gallery and the Debutantes gallery at the Bielsko-Biała University of Technology and Humanities.
A world of imagination and unusual forms and colors can be found in Igor Bryzek’s paintings, which reveal the young artist’s emotions and sometimes difficult relationship with the world outside – Agata Smalcerz, art historian, the director of BWA Gallery.
Among his favourite subjects are animal and plant motifs, intensely coloured with pastels and saturated with mystery. – Wiktoria Michalik, University of Technology and Humanities, Bielsko-Biała.
