About the event

“Girls just wanna have sound” is the latest initiative of the Different Sounds festival to support women in the music industry. With a symbolic beginning on March 8 – International Women’s Day – the project, a collaboration with Bałagan Pub, will regularly feature the work of female artists.

Every Wednesday, Bałagan Pub will play a special playlist featuring songs written, performed or produced by women. We will hear both famous women artists and promising emerging talents. Featuring the hottest trends from international stages and festivals, this will certainly be an exciting journey across genres. Your Shazams will go wild. Don’t forget! Every Wednesday in Bałagan, we’ll hear girls, women, female artists, and musicians. Their music is valuable and important, so let’s listen. Come and join us every Wednesday to celebrate women’s power in music, and discover the artistry of female talent!

The festival is part of the Keychange network, a pioneering international initiative which is transforming the future of music. By encouraging festivals and music organisations to pledge to have at least 50% women and gender expansive people in their programming, staffing and beyond, Keychange is creating a more gender representative, and more inclusive music industry for present and future generations.
