Night of Culture 2026 | open call
Got an idea for a mind-blowing artistic event? Want to showcase something extraordinary during Lublin’s biggest cultural takeover? Now is your chance! We are officially looking for projects for Night of Culture 2026.
This year’s edition kicks off on the night of June 6th–7th, under the theme “A Good Night.” We’re inviting Lublin residents, businesses, NGOs, and institutions to dream up special, premiere cultural activities for this incredible city-wide celebration. Submit your ideas by February 1, 2026.
This is your once-a-year opportunity to actively co-create the Night of Culture program and share your vision with a massive audience. We value projects that interact with the city space, spark conversations, and keep the planet in mind with eco-friendly solutions.
Send your proposals via our online form. If selected, you’ll bring your project to life alongside the Night of Culture team, who will back you up with organization and production support.
What are we looking for?
Creativity – We want projects that break the mold and show the city in a whole new light. Experiment with form, content, and action.
Originality & Premieres – Your project should be born specifically for the Night of Culture. We’re looking for freshness, unique character, and that “one-night-only” magic.
Spatial Relationships – Night of Culture turns the city into a stage and a canvas. We want projects that breathe life into forgotten corners, revealing their history and hidden potential. How can your idea transform an everyday spot into a space for dialogue and new experiences?
Sensory Engagement – Don’t just show or tell. We love projects where the audience can feel, touch, and experience the space in surprising ways.
Interaction & Involvement – This night is about bringing people together. We’re looking for activities that pull the audience in, inviting collaboration, play, and reflection.
We prioritize projects with high artistic value and those that bring their own contribution (material or financial).

About Night of Culture
Night of Culture consists of hundreds of free artistic events filling the public spaces of Lublin. It’s thousands of smiling faces wandering the streets in search of unforgettable thrills. It’s the one night of the year when the impossible becomes reality!
From concerts and light installations to theater and workshops—it’s a seven-hour explosion of experiences. You decide the pace: will it be a night of wild concerts or intimate literary encounters? Through public art, Night of Culture transforms entire streets beyond recognition: it’s a time when you can “smell” the gates, “pet” shaggy walls, and peek through keyholes into fantastic worlds.
Pro tip: Charge your camera batteries. You’re going to need them.
About this year’s theme
We often say “good night” as a signal for rest—the end of the daily trek, a time to kick off our shoes and close our eyes. On June 6th, we want to wish you A Good Night in a completely different way. Defying the usual routine, we’re encouraging you to lace up your most comfortable shoes and set off on a magical journey through the streets and secret corners of Lublin.
This year, we are turning our gaze toward the sky to explore a new theme: The Birds of the Night.
Nocturnal birds are omnipresent—found in the Polish ecosystem and deeply rooted in the mythology and folklore of countless cultures. Their presence can signal many things, and their symbolism is as vast and inclusive as the Night of Culture itself. Sometimes they are simply breathtaking; sometimes they are harbingers of change; often, they are shrouded in mystery. A bird’s ability to fly is a universal symbol of boundless potential, and for those that thrive in the dark, the stillness of the night allows their calls to echo across vast distances.
Warm summer nights are when the most beautiful avian concerts happen. This surge of nocturnal activity is an essential part of the magic of forests and meadows, but also our cities. We hope the world of night birds will inspire our artists and creators, and for our audience, serve as the perfect companion for an urban wander in search of the unexpected.
For the twentieth year running, we invite you to join our endemic spacerum profanum through the historic heart of Lublin.
