Scream | Miasto Movie
About the movie
A celebrated film from the catalogue of horror maestro Wes Craven, which gave rise to one of the most popular series in the history of the genre. Before making ‘Scream’, Craven had already directed films such as ‘The Last House on the Left’, ‘The Hills Have Eyes’, and, most notably, he was behind the global success of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’. The character he created – Freddy Krueger, who haunts his victims in their dreams – became a pop culture phenomenon, and the series itself has spawned a number of sequels and spin-offs.
After years of experience with horror as a genre, the director once again amazed the world by introducing a new format to cinemas. The brilliant combination of fear, humour, adrenaline, distinctive characters, and, above all, the play with convention and meta-commentary on the art of filmmaking itself, made ‘Scream’ an instant cult film for an entire generation. The franchise has continued successfully to this day (we currently have 7 films, with more planned).
In his work, Craven also brought to life another iconic villain, Ghostface, and the famous mask from the series is now one of the most recognisable film attributes in the world.
