The Poetry of the Playful Fool – performative workshops
About
Piotr Sikora’s ‘The Poetry of the Playful Fool’ is a unique course that delves into the art of clowning. Crafted to enlighten participants about their personal quirks and flaws, it aims to amplify their stage presence and skills. The fear of making a mistake and the pressure of societal expectations can often rob us of profound discoveries, both in everyday life and in our performances. These workshops provide a platform to deeply immerse oneself in emotions.
Participants are guided on honing their theatrical prowess by articulating emotions vividly and harnessing them for on-stage magic. The course also emphasises the importance of connecting with the audience using eye contanct and synchronising with the vibe of their act. The nuances of physical comedy are also explored.
Joining this workshop offers attendees a chance to shed self-doubt and savour the exhilaration of holding the spotlight on stage. Might sound intimidating? On the contrary, it’s an adventure in hilarity! Participants are thrown into whimsically absurd scenarios, possibly riddled with blunders. Yet, the underlying objective remains clear: to embrace and celebrate our human flaws, even those parts that aren’t overtly humorous, and to view setbacks as stepping stones to personal growth.
Who can participate?
The programme is addressed to professionals across diverse artistic and stage-related domains – actors, mimes, circus artists, dancers, musicians, comedians, writers, screenwriters, and public speakers. It’s a perfect fit for individuals in pursuit of authenticity, the freedom to be themselves, and those possessing an innate curiosity about the world around them.
Reviews:
The Poetry of the Playful Fool is a workshop unlike any other. It cut me open like a can opener opens a can of corn. On the stage, I see more, feel more – I simply become “more”. Don’t miss the chance to experience ‘The Poetry of the Playful Fool’; maybe it will change your life too”- Alan Szymula
“The workshop ‘The Poetry of the Playful Fool’ stands distinct from others I’ve attended. It changed my perception of stage presence, helping me navigate one of the most difficult aspects of a performance, particularly in the field of illusion – failure. Since then, my command on stage has expanded, my connection with the audience deepened, and I’ve evolved into a more confident and cognizant performer.”- Bartosz Bizański
