The world of the Witcher has fascinated readers and gamers for years. What makes this story remain alive and open to new interpretations?
We invite you to a meeting devoted to the phenomenon of the Witcher and different ways of interpreting Andrzej Sapkowski’s work. It will be a conversation about stories, characters, monsters and the questions that fantasy raises beyond the boundaries of the fictional world.
Our guests will be Beata Jewiarz, an actress and the Polish voice of Yennefer in the game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”, and Maciej Wodziński, a philosopher from UMCS. The conversation will be moderated by Przemysław Głuchowski.
We will hear excerpts from the books in Beata Jewiarz’s interpretation and talk together about what the Witcher tells us about ourselves. We welcome both fans of the books and games and those who would like to discover the world of Geralt of Rivia for the first time.
About the guests
Beata Jewiarz – actress, journalist, producer of poetry performances, promoter of Bolesław Leśmian’s work and creator of artistic projects. A graduate of PWST in Wrocław. Creator of performances including “Natura ludzka”, “Sen” and “Leśmian/Relaks”, featuring poems by Bolesław Leśmian, as well as performance projects involving poetry. In 2025, she was awarded the Medal of Merit for Culture by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In the game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” (CD Projekt RED), she provided the Polish voice of Yennefer of Vengerberg, the main female character. Co-creator of the artistic collective “Uchooko”. Creator of the “Miasto-emocje” series of peace happenings. She provides voices for animated, documentary and feature productions. Co-author of the book “Be Haiku”, published by Blue Bird, nominated in the PTWK Most Beautiful Books of the Year 2017 competition. Winner of the Polish Section of IBBY Award for promoting reading. For more than two decades, she has popularised culture in the media (literature, theatre, cinema, dance, comics and ecology). At Polish Radio RDC, she hosts her own programmes “W Rytmie Kultury” and “Kobiety Rakiety”.

Maciej Wodziński – neurodivergent philosopher from UMCS in Lublin, retired marcher, passionate badminton player, and, on top of that, a self-proclaimed Witcherologist and carpenter. His academic interests focus on the philosophy of psychiatry and mental well-being in a broader sense. In his research, he mainly asks how we can better understand the world as seen through another person’s eyes. Personally, he is in love with Greece. He still, although somewhat clumsily, tries to engage in dialogue with the thought of its great dead thinkers, searching in these conversations for a “way back” to their long-forgotten way of experiencing reality.
