Wicker weaving workshops

The first meeting in the wicker weaving series will take place under the slogan “The fish are returning to Rybny!” It will be led by a master wicker craftswoman, Karolina Karpińska, who will teach anyone interested how to easily make a wicker fish from a few willow twigs.

The series preserves local wickerworking traditions through open-air workshops, where participants can take on a hands-on craft challenge under the guidance of a master craftswoman. They create their own unique pieces – from simple animal figures to decorative hearts and flowers – and can experience firsthand that this traditional craft is still alive, accessible, and full of magic.

The event is a part of the Federacja RE:UNION project (Europejska Stolica Kultury Lublin 2029), which implements activities aimed at encouraging local communities to actively co-create and participate in cultural life and volunteering.
