Biopolis – engaging with surroundings
Biopolis – engaging with surroundings is an ecology-focused project that merges contemporary art, landscape, architecture, and urban audiosphere issues.
Within its framework, we encourage actions inspired by great awareness of modern-day ecological dangers and social problems surrounding them. We’ll be listening intently to the rhythm of this city’s people: its residents, experts, scientists and artists as well as non-human entities, so we can create stories and visions of an even happier Lublin.
Our goal is to offer an interdisciplinary and all-round dialogue about the city in ecological crisis. A dialogue that would intertwine arts, activism and science as a starting point of action. Different ways of seeing, understanding and describing the city serve as pretexts for exchanging thoughts. In this dialogue, reflections on the coexistence of nature and the human world inspire us to take action. Finally, this dialogue opens a way for us to think about what we expect from the city and what the city expects from us.
