Grzegorz Rzepecki

Director

He has been working in Lublin’s cultural sector since 1991. He first worked in Lubelskie Studio Teatralne and, after the restructuring, in the Centre for Culture in Lublin. Until 1995 he was a member of the team of the “Grodzka Gate-NN Theatre” Centre. He was a co-founder of the International Meetings of Dance Theatres. In 1996-2002, he worked as the director for the organisational development of the festival in the years 1996-2002. From 1996 to 1999 he was the editorpublisher and co-editor of the monthly cultural magazine “Na przykład”. He co-founded and edited “Lubelski Informator Kulturalny ZOOM” (2004-2008) and continues to support the online magazine “Kultura Enter” (since 2008). He was one of the main initiators and coordinators of Night of Culture. He also established The Jagiellonian Fair and started the publication series “Wschodni Express”. He initiated and coordinated many other projects, such as Planeta Lublin or the “Taboriada” Festival of Roma Culture. He was a member of the 2020 Culture team, which prepared Lublin’s final application for the ECC 2016 competition. In 2008, he received the Award for the Promotion of Culture awarded by the Mayor of Lublin. He is a member of the Mayor’s Cultural Committee. He participated in the activities of various NGOs, including Stowarzyszenie Literackie “Kresy” and Towarzystwo Edukacji Kulturalnej; he is also a member of the Bruno Schulz Festival Association. In his private life, he is a husband, father, and grandfather – and he is very proud of that. He likes animals, plants and people (a little)..
