The Berlin-based duo Tarwater, Muniek Staszczyk with the project Muniek i Przyjaciele (lit. Muniek and friends), the Brazilian master of playing the Hammond organ performing as Daniel Latorre ORGANisation, the trance band you.Guru, Colors. that look back to the turn of the century, and phenomenal artists completing the feature of the label Instant Classic: ARRM, BNNT is Resina along with the latest project of Kuba Ziołek: Jantar – these are the next music announcement for East of Culture – Different Sounds. This year’s edition takes place between 24-27 June. It’s the 14th edition of the festival and the 8th under the banner of East of Culture, a project carried out by the National Centre for Culture in cooperation with the local governments of Lublin, Białystok and Rzeszów.
This year’s line-up of East of Culture – Different Sounds expands to include the German band Tarwater that relies on both traditional instruments and modern electronica, thus escaping clear labels. We will also see more performers from Poland, among them many premiere projects or those whose stage life was brutally stopped by the pandemic for nearly a year and a half.
One unique project which offers a musical response to strange times, is, for example, the Bydgoszcz-based you.Guru. The band has been set up to answer the shared need for experimenting with music. Their music balances on unpredictable grounds featuring trance-like loops and psychedelic melodies.
The band ARRM fronted by Artur Rumiński, is also well-versed in trance sounds. They make only instrumental, hypnotic music based mainly on droning guitar sounds.
This year, we will also go on an atmospheric albeit fairly dark journey with Resina and Daniel Szwed for the first time with a live presentation of the material from the album “Multiversion” as BNNT is Resina.
The audience of Lublin’a Different Sounds will also have the opportunity to meet Muniek Staszczyk, the frontman of T.Love who will perform as Muniek i Przyjaciele, presenting his legendary sounds in acoustic and very intimate version.
The Brazilian Hammond organ master Daniel Latorre, who will perform with Polish musicians in the Daniel Latorre ORGANisation project, will create a unique musical atmosphere.
The line-up also includes local musicians like the Puławy/Otwock band Colors., while the presentation of the label Instant Classic- this year’s special feature at the festival – will be completed by Kuba Ziołek’s latest project, Jantar.
