Aleksandra Zińczuk - Ljubljana, 2022 | SVN
A site of national remembrance in Ljubljana. April 27th, the day after Hitler attacked Yugoslavia and Greece in 1941, The Liberation Front was born in what is now the former Yugoslavia. In the post-war period, it's celebrated as Resistance Day, the Day of Uprising Against Occupation. The site remains a symbol of unresolved memory( this memory doesn't fit), in which the partisan movement, the communist past and the polarising figure of Josip Broz Tito become constant subjects of political controversy and easy targets for historical policy modelling by successive right- and left-leaning parties.
