Mosaic murals in the barrio of Jaimanitas. Fusterlandia is a spontaneous art project, initiated in 1975 by the Cuban artist Jose Fuster who found inspiration in the works of Gaudi and Picasso. The sprawling, kaleidoscopic mosaics cover the facades of buildings in the area. The residents liked the artist’s ideas so much that they began using the style to decorate their own homes, gardens, roadside walls, bus stops and other elements of public infrastructure.
