Night of Culture
Lublin’s Night of Culture is a festival of light installations and shows in the city. The programme consists of hundreds of events, most of which move away from concert halls, art galleries and museums to the gates, squares and streets of the Old Town.
Installations, objects, and artistic actions are presented in places that we would not expect to have such potential. Art revives unknown and forgotten places, while familiar places appear in a completely new, unusual light.
Night of Culture is a festival of endless surprises. Extraordinary things happen. During one edition, the artists transported visitors into the world of books. Huge colourful letters fell from the windows, typewriters clattered into the night and poems could be read on the walls. Another time, the visitors travelled to the world of tailoring. Walking through the Old Town, one could see life-size sewing accessories and porcelain dresses or hug a pink fur wall. What can we expect from future editions? One thing is for sure – it will be a blast.
