The Jagiellonian Fair – re:tradition
The Jagiellonian Fair – re:tradition is Poland’s largest festival of traditional music and crafts. In August, the city of Lublin becomes alive and transforms into the capital of traditional folk culture for three days and three nights. During this time, the festival’s programme provides the opportunity to explore the highlights of traditional culture along the streets of the Old Town
The most important element of the festival is traditional music, presented both in its original form and in contemporary interpretations.
Visitors to the festival can also enjoy the special annual musical production, the concert re:tradition, which blends the mastery of traditional cultural music with contemporary performers to enlighten the senses. The festival also features nightly dance parties with live traditional music, old-time games, exhibitions, performances, films, talks, and panel discussions.
Festival-goers will also find unique designs and crafts representing Polish and other Central Eastern European traditions. You will be able to see the craftsmanship, precision, and hours of work that artisans put into their products. The Jagiellonian Fair is a great way to forget about the present. Let us savour such moments!
