About
Join us at Bałagan Pub for a concert by fie.dronowicz — a project that takes listeners on a fascinating journey through the sounds of the Suwałki region, where the past meets the present.
fie.dronowicz is the solo project of Piotr Fiedorowicz — sound artist, documentarian, and ethnographer from the Suwałki region.
He combines analogue synthesisers, a looper, and a sampler with traditional instruments such as Lithuanian–Belarusian bagpipes, violin, and harmonica to create multilayered, organic soundscapes inspired by the musical traditions of the borderlands.
Each performance is a one-of-a-kind journey built on authentic songs and melodies collected from the people of north-eastern Poland, reimagined through a contemporary sensibility.
The music of fie.dronowicz moves between meditative ambient, sound poetry, field recording, and echoes of ancient trance.
At Bałagan, Piotr Fiedorowicz will perform live using synthesizers, sampler, Belarusian bagpipes, violin, and harmonica.
About the Artist
Piotr Fiedorowicz – violinist, bagpiper, documentarian, and passionate advocate for the traditional culture of the Suwałki region.
Co-founder of the bands Biele, Chłopcy z Nowoszyszek, Otako, and Dautenis, he has been preserving and reinterpreting the folk music of his homeland since 1998. He co-runs the Krusznia Association, which promotes traditional music through educational and publishing projects.
Since 2005, he has learned directly from the last traditional fiddlers of the Suwałki region — Franciszek Racis and Mieczysław Pachutko — inheriting their repertoire and their knowledge of the frame drum. He is also the author of archival recordings, photographs, and films documenting the culture of the borderlands.
A laureate of many awards, including Polish Radio’s Fonogram Źródeł, the New Tradition competition, and the Kazimierz Dolny Folk Festival, he received three awards at the Polish Radio Folk Festival “New Tradition” (2025) for his solo project fie.dronowicz. Among them was the Czesław Niemen Special Award for an original artistic vision inspired by the heritage of the Suwałki region.
That same year, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute awarded him a grant to attend WOMEX 2025, the world’s leading music industry fair.
