Calling all street performers! Carnaval Sztukmistrzów 2024 is throwing open its doors for the busker bash of the year.

In this fourth round of our contest, it’s a no-holds-barred gag-off and trick-a-thon, where both Polish and international street artists can strut their stuff.

So, whip out your application, wow us to bits, dazzle the Carnaval crowd with your show-stopping performance, and you could bag yourself not just a cash prize, but the adoration of our festival-goers! Step right up – it’s showtime!

Who is it for?

Buskers, circus artists and street performers are invited to apply. We’re on the hunt for the most intriguing and diverse acts out there. Send us your pitch and you could be one of the lucky few to dazzle audiences at the most attractive festival locations.

Why do it?

Take part in Poland’s largest festival of contemporary circus
Imagine taking the stage for four days, with performances twice daily at prime festival locations announced in our programme, in front of the best audience in the country. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Carnaval Sztukmistrzów isn’t just any festival; it’s Poland’s premier showcase of new circus art, acrobatics, and clowning. It’s a special time when street artists and circus arts masters from around the world come to Lublin to unveil their jaw-dropping acts.

Your hat is your fee
For many years, Carnaval Sztukmistrzów’s fans have welcomed buskers with open arms and hearts, packing out shows and rewarding the artists with generous donations to their hats. Over 100,000 spectators visit our festival every year.

Cash prize
The street performer who dazzles the crowd and claims the title of the audience favourite could bag 3,000 PLN. The winner will be crowned based on the votes cast by our audience in an online poll.

Spotlight on you
Artists selected in the open call will not only earn a spot in the official festival programme but will also bask in the glow of extensive promotion. We’re talking about shining brightly in Carnaval Sztukmistrzów’s printed materials as well as on the festival’s buzzing social media channels.

What are our expectations?

We have a penchant for new acts, or those that have not been previously featured in Carnaval Sztukmistrzów’s official line-up. 

What are the conditions of participation?

• We provide the venue and basic technical infrastructure
• Accommodation and meals are on us, plus we reimburse travel expenses up to €500 for international artists and up to 500 PLN for Polish artists.
• Please note, we do not pay fees!

How to apply?

If you agree to our terms and are keen on joining the festival, please send your online application to info@carnavallublin.eu. It should include:

• A brief intro about you and your act
• Photos and videos/trailers of your performances (we have a soft spot for videos)
• Your technical rider or specific technical requirements
• Your travel plans (how you’re getting here, and from where)
• A video presenting the show / artist. Submitting it isn’t a must, but it definitely boosts your chances of getting picked.
