City textures | The Art of Sensitivity

About the event

Can a city be drawn without using a pencil? And can its history be recorded through traces, textures and prints? During the workshop, children will set off on a sensory walk through the city and look for textures we usually pass by without a second thought: on walls, pavements, grates, covers, wooden elements, sculptures and architectural details.

Each participant will receive their own small notebook – a graphic travel journal. Using simple printmaking techniques, we will collect textures found along the way and create prints of them. The notebook will thus become a personal map of the city’s textures.

This is a workshop for young explorers who enjoy experimenting and looking at the world up close. We will show that inspiration for creating can be found in everything around us – even an ordinary manhole cover or the texture of an old wall.

You do not need to know how to draw or have any previous art experience. All you need is curiosity and a willingness to discover the city anew.

A city can be seen. A city can be touched. A city can also be printed!

During the workshop, we will be walking around the city – please wear comfortable clothes and footwear suitable for the weather.
