Art workshop ‘The cheerful world of bacteria and viruses’ | workshops for organised groups
About the event
What lies within the microscopic world? We invite children to explore the fascinating world of microorganisms that surround us every day, even though they remain invisible to the naked eye. The starting point for creative play will be real bacteria and viruses, shown at high magnification.
During the session, participants will create their own colourful bacteria and viruses using cardboard, craft foam and a variety of creative materials. Wiggly eyes, colourful accessories and a child’s imagination will turn everyday invisible microorganisms into fun and friendly creatures.
Together, we will explore the extraordinary shapes and forms of bacteria and viruses, and then create our own imaginative versions of them. Creative play will provide an opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the topic of microorganisms and to discuss hygiene and daily habits that help us take care of our health.
Three reasons why it’s worth signing your class up for a workshop
- Children learn about the world of microbes in a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere, which reduces anxiety and builds healthy hygiene habits.
- Working with a variety of materials (cardboard, foam, textures) stimulates the spatial imagination and manual skills of young children.
- The workshop fits perfectly with the theme of health, combining scientific knowledge with artistic expression outside the classroom.
The classes are inspired by an exhibition of illustrations on hygiene by Estera Mrówka, which, in a light-hearted, humorous and imaginative way, encourages young children to take a look at everyday rituals related to caring for cleanliness and well-being.
